LOGO DESIGN
Inspiration for the name "Mutara" finds its roots in the lore of the Sci-Fi media franchise, Star Trek. To be brief, Spock, a beloved character from the series, was born on planet Mutar (which is also a real nebulas!) Moreover, the word Mutar in spanish means to change or go through a metamorphosis. All of these sources of inspiration served as the building blocks for what would be the beginnings of a brand identity.
For the logo, a visual element that played a pivotal role was Spock's famously large, pointed ears. However, the challenge then became how to implement such an iconic shape without being glaringly obvious and speak to the company's objective and mission.
Mutara
While still in the preliminary stages, the Mutara Project is a software enterprise system that targets higher education, health care, and human resource organizations.
After sketches and presenting a couple fleshed-out ideas to the team, we resolved on combining different elements of a few ideas and creating the finalized logo.
